4th Meeting, 29 September – 1 October 2011, Edinburgh, Scotland
In 2011, Michelle Welsh mainly organized our 4th annual – and again independent – meeting. This was our largest and possibly most successful yet meeting, bringing together 62 participants from 14 different countries from Europe and also much further afield like Nigeria and Brazil. The meeting was held at the University of Edinburgh and we were delighted to have excellent invited lectures by Philippa Saunders (Edinburgh, Scotland), Ilpo Huhtaniemi (London, UK and Turku, Finland), Andrew Wilkie (Oxford, UK) and Noora Kotaja (Turku, Finland). After careful consideration of the 38 submitted abstracts, the committee selected eight young researchers to present their work orally while the other 30 were given the opportunity to present their work in the poster session.
